


Alicia Dawn, owner of Safari Dogs Ranch, loves and trains all types of animals, including skunk, zebra, goats, sheep, donkeys, and cows. Her forte, however, is dogs.
She first animals as a child, starting with a feral kitten named Miss Moppet, who was her first pet. For her 9th birthday, her parents gave her Golden Retriever puppy, Princess. She trained and competed with Princess in obedience, earning CD and CDX titles. As a teen, she trained and showed various animals and more Golden Retrievers. By age 15, she taught obedience classes eventually training client dogs through private lessons and board & train programs.
Alicia Dawn grew more competitive with Border Collies and Chinese Cresteds, winning numerous National and one World Championship. She was a key importer and board member for the Peruvian Inca Orchids in the USA and trained in Schutzhund with German Shepherds and a Border Collie.
With Brent Brooks and under the guidance of Debby Kay, she developed an effective method for training Diabetic Alert Dogs, producing many in Texas over the years. Her line of Golden Retrievers includes a hunting line and a pet/show/service dog line of European Cream Goldens.
Presently, she focuses on pet obedience and boards client dogs at her 15-acre property near Denton, Texas. Safari Dogs Ranch has 10 indoor/outdoor runs housing 10-20 dogs, Her team ensures cleanliness and and supervises ample playtime for the dogs. She prefers feeding a raw food diet and minimal vaccines, and support clients with a holistic training, diet, and health regimen. Her favorite hobby away from the ranch is dance and dance instruction.
